WSS Mounted Dragoons - Full Unit

I finished the remaining 6 Mounted Dragoons so here they are as a full unit.

Meanwhile some camels have appeared in the Sands of Sudan project box.

And some die markers.

Litko round bases, Warbases die holders and mini-dice, railway ballast, paint and static grass.

Pendraken 1882 Egyptian Infantry are soon to be ready.

Meanwhile:

I am waiting for the Covid-19 event to wither away as I'm hoping to attend Carronade in Falkirk in May and also have a family holiday in Spain during July.

Furthermore:

My medical team have reviewed my last CT scan, from January, and have declared that there is no further signs of cancer.

However they detected some narrowing of my left coronary artery which will need some attention.

My response is to keep on painting soldiers.

More when I know it.

    1. I no longer worry about cancer now and I'm torn between worrying about coronavirus or coronary arteries.

  3. You are probably heading for a stent op to widen the coronary artery, this is a good quick fix (and not a large scar!).
I rejoice you have been given the all clear on Cancer.
Covid-19 is not a threat if you are not vulnerable to normal seasonal influenza, just keep washing your hands with soap and water, and try not to touch the moist parts of your face, and you have a good chance of avoiding getting it!

    1. I agree with you Richard, a stent seems to be the best all round solution. I am already known to be statin intolerant and there aren't lots of varieties to try out. I wouldn't worry about scarring, I already have about 7 little scars and 4 big ones.

My cancer experience is nothing but a dim memory now.

I am fairly isolated from the potentially infected masses apart from the weekly shop and I don't expect to be at higher risk until Carronade in May when I hope things will be much clearer by then.

So it's full steam ahead and paint toy soldiers.

  4. Jim, good news about your cancer recovery, my brother-in-law is getting ready for his first scan with some trepidation.

Lovely models, I know they are not done yet. but I really like the look of the camel basing, both the base itself and also the irregular grouping of 3's.

    1. Cancer is certainly no fun but definitely worth fighting.

I am swithering between Pendraken 10mm figures for Sands of Sudan and Newline Designs 20mm figures. Playing space will decide at the end of the day.

  5. Great news on your health front. The figures you are painting have come up really well. I will be interested to see if Carronade goes ahead, it is an excellent show and I do hope so.

    1. It would be a shame if Carronade couldn't go ahead and that would put Claymore at risk.
