Woodland Indians - Hurons

If you go down to my woods today you'll sure get a big surprise.

Well I did.

I actually finished a unit, first time for at least a couple of months. Amazing what a touch of laziness tempered with a lack of focus and a four week holiday in the sun can do to you.

So, here are a group of 12 Huron Indians sans leader as part of my Sharp Practice French 1755 force.

Painted by my good hands, mucked up by my bad eyes.

Figure bases by Her Majesty's Mint, sabots by Warbases.

  1. Hi Jim. Wow great job! I love those minis and you did a fine job painting them up. They'll no doubt be counting coup in no time.

    1. The rest of the French force is not far behind but I have no British yet.

  2. They look great! I like the sabots, too. Nice for the gaming table.

  3. Hi, I base my figures on 2p's and use Warbase sabots but didn't realise they also made them with magnets embedded, does it make a big difference to the stability of the figure?

    1. You have to put the magnets and sabots together, both supplied by Warbases.

A 1p based figure is quite stable, I'm not sure about 2p's.

  4. Looking sharp. Just the sort of gentry to put the wind up any self respecting Mohican.

    1. I'm hoping to have a real Frenchman (unfortunately now a UK national) push these about the table as well as the French Canadians I am busy painting at the moment.

  5. Nice work Jim and a good sized project to get you back onto the production line. Did you drill out for the magnets or did it come like that from those nice Warbases people?

    1. The sabots come pre-cut from Warbases.

I am doing a little 'how-to' for my blog, watch out for it.

  6. Thanks Jay.

A rest in the Florida sun has done wonders, pity that it rained so much.
