The Cake Has Landed, 70 years old, that's me, not the cake.
Also had my daughter, son-in-law and 3 year old grandson cycle past the house dropping off a card in the passing. Waved to them from the living room window, it was absolutely Baltic so didn't hang about. My grandson gets towed in a little buggy behind one of the bikes.
In the last two minutes my niece/god-daughter and her daughter did a drive-by of the house, difficult in a cul-de-sac but you know what I mean. My niece is a fully trained paramedic but she was on a welcome day off. Another card dropped off and a few quid slipped into my PayPal account. Wonder what it will buy, maybe a book or some more figures.
Many thanks for all your good wishes.
Back to the paint brush now.
Happy birthday and regards to your niece (my nephew is in charge of one of the hospital labs trying to get tests sorted, his wife is in nursing and another niece is in the police)
ReplyDeleteUnsung heroes, all of them.
DeleteMy gaming chum is an ambulance driver.
Happy 70th, Jim!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonathan, not one I'd thought I'd see a couple of years ago.
DeleteHappy Birthday Jim!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alan
DeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the 70-up club!
Keep safe and keep well,
Bob
Happy birthday Jim. Enjoy the cake!
ReplyDeleteMany Happy Returns Of The Day !!!
ReplyDeleteBeen a funny day.
DeleteFirst time I have celebrated my birthday out the front window.
Happy Birthday Jim...
ReplyDeleteHere’s to many more...
All the best. Aly
Another 70 would be just dandy, would get all my painting done.
DeleteHappy 70th birthday pal! Stay well and keep playing!
ReplyDeleteThat's the plan
DeleteHappy Birthday Jim and stay safe and well during these difficult times.
ReplyDeleteFurthest I've been is 5 yards to the North (garden gate) or 6 yards to the South (wargames hut). Haven't been East of West.
DeleteCan empathise with this, my own quiet day was marked by two of my children standing half way down the driveway singing Happy Birthday. One had just finished a short shift 8 hrs, the other was on the way to night 7 of 9.
ReplyDeleteFortunately they`ve now got PPE, but enough staff would be welcome. Guess whats on my Birthday wish list.
Always remember that the whole country has been practising singing Happy Birthday to YOU , whilst busy washing their hands.
I wish you many mor of them,
Douglas.
1950 was a good year.
Very good of the kids to remember you even in such constrained times.
DeleteI'm just arranging a delivery of PPE for the Scottish Ambulance Service from the Pendraken initiative.
