I painted a few horses for my chum.
Here they are:
Apologies for the shadow, it was a very blustery day (think just short of a gale)and the sun was coming and going like nobodies business and I was rocking back in forth between gusts.
Some insights into a crazy world of model soldiers, toys to some, a business to others, an amazing realm where there are no limits other than your imagination, tempered with a bit of research and history.

Hot in the Sudan
Hot in my back yard too.
Mahdist hordes close in on some imperial troops.
Here are the Black Watch, straight off the boat in Alexandria and expressed up the Nile due the emerging emergency. No time to ditch the kilts or feather bonnets, there's work to be done.
The thing about kilts in 10mm is to not attempt the tartan as a pattern, it's way too small. All I have done is basecoat the kilt in very dark blue and roughly painted dark green vertical and horizontal splodges. The eye/brain will do the rest.
Fuzzie Wuzzies creep closer.
Ansar rifles cover the approach of camelry.
Rumours of French assistance are abound in Alexandria, perhaps the Legion is on the way.
My next Highland unit may well be in trews and pith helmets, time will tell.
