You'll never guess ...

Was at the living room window in time for the weekly NHS clap and you'll never guess what happened next …

When the clapping finished everyone in the street sang 'Happy Birthday' to me.

I was 70 on Monday.

Word gets around all right.

    1. Now everyone know I am the oldest man in the street. (As if it wasn't obvious)

  2. Congratulations, but does this not mean that your risk level has suddenly been elevated and you can no longer leave the house?

Also, this sounds a very young street if there is really no-one else over 70.

    1. I don't leave the house anyway as I'm in a number of at risk groups due to my health, cancer survivor, high blood pressure, current heart problem, asthma and now I'm 70 as well.

I live in a cul-de-sac, there are only 21 houses. There is one widow who lost her husband last year who is older than me. Everyone else is still working so are either 65 or a lot younger. Newest new comers are just about to retire so are in their 60's I guess.

    1. Thanks Phil

I will come and say hello if we ever get to Crisis again. Who can tell in these disrupted times.

    1. We've always had a good community feel in my street so it wasn't a surprise really. The only problem was I couldn't run round the street and shake hands with everyone, my wife would have killed me.
