I am painting figures most evenings though not for as long as I previously did. I get really tired so tend to lose enthusiasm.
However I am completing units.
Here are some I am doing for a friend.
Gallic Celts based up for To the Strongest.
I've also done some Caesarian Roman commanders. Some guy called Julius.
And another called Marcus.
Onwards and Upwards (actually my GP has increased my medication, not sure if that is good or bad).
Excellent, keep it up... both the painting and the recovery.
ReplyDeletePainting figures is the one thing that my wife will allow me to do without any time constraints. I mustn't sleep too long through the day, mustn't watch TV too much, mustn't walk for too long with my grandson, mustn't carry too many shopping bags at one time.
DeleteNice work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jay
DeleteLooking good, Jim!
ReplyDeleteHope so, they are for a friend who will use them in a big multi-player game so lots of my club chums will see them too.
DeleteThe figures look great! Nice painting.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes with your recovery and health!
The painting technique I use is very tolerant of little brush errors.
DeleteHealth-wise I (we) need to see how my high blood pressure is doing by November. i.e is the increase in medication working?
Good to hear that recovery continues. I have done one large base of the Warlord Celtic infantry and found the transfers hard work, in the end I cut them in half so that they would apply properly, but I suspect the fault was mine, as I think you are meant to apply them with a different technique than standard decals (peal and reverse apply I think).
ReplyDeleteDid you ever do anything serious with your Kallistra AWI?
I trim the transfers around the inside aperture with a very sharp modelling blade and then round the outside with scissors. Then dunk in water for a minute and slide into place adjusting with a wet paintbrush. They are a bit fiddly.
DeleteThe AWI figures are on the back burner, and I've bought more since.
The figures look really good! Please continue to move onwards and upwards in your recovery.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Alan
Thanks Alan, hope you are in good fettle too. Jim
DeleteVery nice job! Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteThanks Stefan, I try my best.
DeleteGlad to hear your feeling better , nice figures your turning out .
ReplyDeleteThey are a commission for a friend.
DeleteI imagine its very frustrating feeling fatigued all the time, well done on getting all that painting done! I am sure your friend will be delighted by them!
ReplyDeleteI drove to a wargames show last weekend. Up at 7am, driving by 8am and arriving just about 10am. Felt a touch dozy on approach.
DeleteWill do a similar drive in November so will do a comparison to see if my stamina has increased.
I need to be able to drive to York in February, up at 5am, 6am driving, 4 hours to get there. Might be a struggle.
Jim,
ReplyDeleteIts great to read that you are on the mend ... and it looks as if you haven't lost your painting touch one bit! They look great!
All the best,
Bob
Thanks Bob.
DeleteI think it is because we share a great hobby that I keep going. I don't what else I could be doing without becoming a couch potato.
Excellent job, they look dynamic and beautiful...and best wishes!
ReplyDeleteMerci Phil.
ReplyDeleteThey are dynamic and rushing towards their doom by the Romans.
Jim
Hi Jim, having suffered a stroke myself this June I can fully imagine how you feel. Still, I am sure your energy will return, I know mine is, slowly. We're always a little impatient, are we not? Just keep up the good spirits, taking one step at a time and all will be well. Your painting definitely has not suffered, the figures look great! Best wishes, Martijn
ReplyDeleteHi Martijn
DeleteI have some great chums who keep me going as well as 15 month old Grandson. Have to miss out on Crisis this year but still managing about 10 shows a year, some of them quite local.
Hope you continue to improve.
